Ukulele for Intermediate students

UPDATED 05/16/2023

For both ukulele classes, masking is now optional unless the instructor says otherwise ... if you are sick, please stay home; if you are coughing you will be asked to leave class for the day. Uke classes will be held in our 3rd floor, larger room which has an air purifier.

Blackstone River Theatre will offer a six-week UKULELE class for CONTINUING beginners with instructor Armand Aromin on Thursdays, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and July 6, from 6:30-7:20 PM. This small, group class needs a minimum of five students, with a maximum of eight. Fee is $100 per student per six-week session. Prepayment necessary! Pre-requisites: Must have taken the Total Beginner Ukulele class with Armand in the past OR at least know how to tune the instrument on your own, identify the strings, and know the C, C7, F, G, and Am chords.

Blackstone River Theatre will offer a six-week INTERMEDIATE UKULELE class with instructor Armand Aromin on Thursdays, June 1, 8, 15, 22, 29, and July 6, from 7:30-8:30 PM. This small, group class needs a minimum of five students, with a maximum of eight. Fee is $100 per student per six-week session. Prepayment necessary! Pre-requisites: Must have taken the Total Beginner and Continuing Beginner class with Armand OR meet the pre-requisites for the Continuing Beginner class (see above) as well as have some basic finger-picking experience; know the Island Strum, and know the A, E7, G7, and Dm chords.

Through these classes, students will not only focus on chords, techniques, and gaining familiarity around the fretboard, but will also refine what they already know in order to express a variety of complex musical ideas through the songs we will cover … or even within a single song!

Armand Aromin is a chronic multi-instrumentalist, singer, percussive dancer, and violin maker living in Providence, Rhode Island. More importantly, his first name is pronounced like the brand “Arm & Hammer.” He is one-half of The Vox Hunters, a quarter of Eight Feet Tall, and at least a third of The Ivy Leaf. He proudly owns Aromin Violins, a tiny workshop within five paces of the bedroom.
