NOTE: Blackstone River Theatre no longer requires masks or proof of vaccination status. If you wish to still wear a mask that is of course totally fine! By attending a Blackstone River Theatre class, you are voluntarily assuming all risks related to exposure to COVID-19. Blackstone River Theatre will continue to monitor our COVID policy.

As part of our Heritage Arts Studio initiative, Blackstone River Theatre pursues arts education outreach by offering classes and workshops at the theatre with respected performers and teachers. This initiative allows the community to discover or reconnect with traditional art forms (music, song, dance, folk, visual and literary arts) and become PARTICIPANTS in our regional arts heritage.

Heritage Arts Studio offerings for Fall/Winter 2022 will include two levels of fiddle workshops with Cathy Clasper-Torch. Tir Na Nog Irish Dance will offer three days of non-competitive Irish step dance classes for children and teens with instructor Erika Damiani. Ed Sweeney will offer beginner and advanced beginner 5-string banjo on Saturdays. Ed will also offer a Group Guitar Workshop for intermediate guitar players on Mondays. Look for a two-day workshop in Celtic stone carving with Laura Travis October 8-9, 2022. We will offer a workshop in beginner mountain dulcimer with Aubrey Atwater. Aubrey will lead two workshops in Singing Traditional Folk Songs and she will also teach a clogging workshop. Kyle Forsthoff will offer continuing beginner and advanced beginner workshops in bodhran (Irish drum) . We will again offer classes in beginner and continuing beginner Ukulele with Armand Aromin, two workshops in beginner Irish step dance for adults with Kevin Doyle and a rhythm bones workshop for continuing beginners with Dean Robinson Nov. 6.

So we can be assured of meeting the minimum needed to hold any of our class offerings, BRT NEEDS PRE-PAYMENT AT LEAST 3 DAYS BEFORE THE START OF ANY CLASS (and hopefully sooner!) or we'll need to cancel at that time.
