JOHN DOYLE and MICK McAULEY

John Doyle is a ground-breaking guitarist, singer, and songwriter, who grew up in Dublin. He immigrated to America and New York City in 1991 and went on to help found the supergroup Solas. Since then, his innovation, extraordinary guitar chops, and versatility have made him one of the most sought after musicians in all of Celtic, Folk and Americana. Doyle formed the highly acclaimed group Solas with Seamus Egan, John Williams, Karan Casey, and Winifred Horan and they took the folk and Celtic music worlds by storm, in no small part due to Doyle’s powerhouse rhythmic guitar style and innovative arrangements. After leaving Solas, Doyle went on to perform and tour with other greats in the folk, Celtic, and bluegrass worlds, including as music director for folk icon Joan Baez and guitarist for Mary Chapin Carpenter. Returning to the Summer Solstice Festival, John will be performing with fellow Solas member Mick McAuley, a multi-instrumentalist who plays accordion, melodeon, concertina, whistles and guitar. The two are recording a duo album to be released soon! JUST ADDED! Fiddler Oisin McAuley, of Danu, will join John and Mick.
