The Blackstone River Theatre Summer Solstice Festival
has been rescheduled to Saturday, June 18, 2022.
The decision to postpone our signature Summer Solstice Festival for the 2nd time in two years is not one that we make lightly. Blackstone River Theatre misses our celebration of Celtic and world music and dance traditions more than you can know but in the end, the decision is actually an easy one to make. Nothing is more important to us than the safety and well-being of our patrons, volunteer staff, musicians, dancers, sound crew, and vendors and we simply do not feel it will be safe enough to gather in June during the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic.
Watch this space for details. Wear a mask. Socially distance. Get vaccinated.
A festival of this size necessitates planning that would already have to be underway and there's simply no way to know at the moment what State or Federal guidelines will be for either travel or outdoor gathering capacity. Because of those concerns, we have decided to put off the festival one more year so all of us AND all of you can feel safe about attending. We will begin by asking back all of the performers who were scheduled for the 2020 Solstice Festival which would have been our tenth annual event at Diamond Hill Park. As we have vowed, no artist will lose this festival gig or any other scheduled at Blackstone River Theatre because of COVID-19 cancellations.
Blackstone River Theatre looks forward to the day when we can all gather together again!
