BRT Booking Policies
Blackstone River Theatre predominantly books professional ethnic, folk, acoustic blues, roots and traditional musicians with a focus on Celtic artists and the music of those ethnic groups that have settled in the Blackstone River Valley. Although we occassionally book contemporary singer-songwriters, jazz, bluegrass and classical performers, these genres are presented less frequently.

While we are dedicated to presenting the best of regional and local performers, the majority of our bookings are with professional artists with strong national and/or international reputations. If you are a local musician who plays many other local venues in the area, or an out-of-state musician with little or no Rhode Island/Massachusetts fan base, it is unlikely that we will be interested in a booking.

If you feel that your music may be a fit with BRT's programming after looking at our schedule and past performers, we ask that you contact Russell Gusetti first by e-mail to check on our level of interest.

After contacting us first by e-mail, if you are asked to send out a CD/promo, you may send your materials to:

BRT Art Gallery Info

Visual artist gallery information: Contact Russell Gusetti

Blackstone River Theatre currently books visual artists for five-week shows in the BRT upper and lower theatre lobbies from September through May (usually 20-34 pieces depending on size). We are now reviewing artwork for the Fall, 2012 season and beyond; showings are usually arranged 4-8 months in advance. Artists must first contact Russell Gusetti to express interest and then will be asked to show a portfolio or e-mail current samples of work to be considered. All BRT exhibits are now coordinated by Pat and George Sargent. Artwork or visual artists with a connection to the Blackstone River Valley or musical themes are preferred but not necessary. We are currently only displaying two-dimensional work as a rule. Artwork CAN be sold by the artist with no commission fee taken by BRT. Our sole goal is to have the work of local visual artists combine with our performing arts programming to enhance our audience's total experience. The artist is SOLELY responsible for drop-off/pick-up of work, matting, framing, hanging (with BRT staff supervision) and taking down their show and for all costs and insurances associated with hanging their artwork in an exhibit space.
