Classes: Spring 2017

As part of our Heritage Arts Studio initiative, Blackstone River Theatre pursues arts education outreach by offering classes and workshops at the theatre with respected performers and teachers. This initiative allows the community to discover or reconnect with traditional art forms (music, song, dance, folk, visual and literary arts) and become PARTICIPANTS in our regional arts heritage.

Heritage Arts Studio offerings for Spring 2017 will include an 8-week session of six levels of fiddle classes with Cathy Clasper-Torch. We will offer an 8-week session of non-competitive Irish step dance classes for children and adults (15 different classes levels) with instructor Erika Damiani including five troupe classes geared for performance as part of Tir Na Nog Irish Dance. We continue our popular Zumba classes on Monday evenings with April Hilliker. Ed Sweeney will offer a 5-week series of continuing beginner classes in both guitar and 5-string banjo and a new 6-week session of classes in Open Tunings for intermediate guitar players. We will also offer beginner classes in bodhran (Irish drum) with Kyle Forsthoff in April-May.

Visit the specific class links for full information. We are working hard to incorporate the ability to pay for classes via PayPal and we intend on having that capability by September 2017.
