The Harney Academy of Irish Dancing The Harney Academy of Irish Dancing was founded in 1990 by Liam Harney, a two-time World Champion and accredited teacher and adjudicator with the An Colmissium le Rinci Gaelacha in Ireland along with the dedication and support of his mother Sally Harney. For over 20 years, the academy has provided students and parents with the opportunity to experience the rich traditions and heritage of Irish dance and music. The Academy is located in Walpole, MA and includes many regionally, nationally and world ranked champion dancers. The Harney Academy Dancers competed in 2007 at the World championships in Glasgow, Scotland and the mixed (4 boys and 4 girls) ceili team placed 4th in the 13-16-year-old competition, while the girls ceili finished 2nd in the 13-16-year-old category. The Harney Academy believes that their students are their greatest asset and it is their dedication and commitment to continuing the tradition of Irish dance and music that keeps the Academy alive with spirit.
