2007 Blackstone River Theatre Celtic Festival - Audience Response

Below are some of the unsolicited e-mails and letters that Blackstone River Theatre received in the days following the first-ever BRT Celtic Festival held on July 21, 2007 at Cumberland's Diamond Hill Park.

" ...thank yourselves on all you did for such amazing event. I am familiar with the time and work involved!! Well deserved success for you! With any event, as you know, the aura always stems right from the top people and trickles down to the rest... The day was perfect. I also noticed how the weather was right in sync with how the day unfolded. Overcast skies as the beginning performers settled in and got started to the strong beaming sun as the day intensified with all stages running with such great performances!! I can't say enough! I love BRT and all that it's about. It is very professionally run, very inviting and has some of the nicest people. I am very thankful that BRT has such a great passion for the arts!" - Mary

"I keep thinking about how incredibly AMAZING Saturday was, how PERFECT the festival was, and what a beautiful spirit the whole event had. And, I absolutely, to the core, loved the evening music session. I hadn't enjoyed a jam like that in a long time. The dancing I got to see and experience that whole day and evening means so much to me I can't even say... BRAVO, BRAVO and THANK YOU! I have somewhat of a clue as to what that entailed to put all of that together and I say, WOW." - Aubrey

"By the way, I wore my Festival shirt one day on vacation, and since most of the family there is from Cumberland, they all started saying, "Oh, did you go to that? I heard it was fantastic! The reviews were great in the paper and all, but the people I know who went said even better things." And when I said I volunteered, they were all interested in the theater itself and now are planning on going to some shows! Just figured I'd let you know about some first hand positive reviews I've been hearing." - Cindy

"I wanted to thank you for planning such a great festival for us in RI. I can't even begin to imagine how much time you and the rest of the planners put into it. The location and music and the beautiful day made for a wonderful time. We had three generations attending and it will be a fond memory of a well spent day. THANKS and we are looking forward to next year!" - Diane

"Seriously good festival... I thought I was nuts to come from Catskills Irish Arts week to a second event, but man oh man, am I glad I got to see that evening session!" - Stephanie

"What a great festival! If they had an award for 'Festival Director of the Year,' Russ would win it hands down... ABSOLUTELY the best dance floor I've ever seen at an outdoor festival!!! Wow! Double Wow!!" - Barry

"I hope you've recovered from that wonderful festival you put on!!! It was such a great day all ways around. Everything was so well organized and well thought-out." - Cathy

"The BRT Celtic Festival was wonderful. I had a very enjoyable time and everything was great! Thanks again for your inspiration and all of your efforts to create it. Bravo!" - Steve

"Thanks for all you do to raise our spirits and refresh our souls." - Beverly

"Kaitlyn enjoyed her volunteer-in-training role - so much so that when the priest at church the next day made a request for volunteers for the SeptemberFest, Kaitlyn looked at me with a big smile and a big thumbs up! A little side benefit you can chalk up to to your festival - an eight-year old with a growing appreciation for volunteerism... The festival was outstanding - we can't thank you enough for your leadership! thanks again for a great day! Count us in for next year!" - Ron

"Bravo to all hands for a great job yesterday. Location is beautiful, weather couldn't have been better, and your volunteers were outstanding as usual (as were the sound men)." - Bill

"What a great festival!!! All of you did an awesome job. You were especially kind and supportive of all of the volunteers. I have participated in other events which were full of confusion and ultimately bad feelings. That was not the case on Saturday. I enjoyed my shifts so much that you can sign me up right now for the entire day next year. After what he saw, you can sign my husband up too." - Diane

"Just want to say what a pleasure it was working with the entire crew on Saturday. What a great sense of satisfaction you must have!! I know you must be high as a kite knowing that you pulled off such a terrific event. I am still amazed at how happy the crowd was, how the sound was flawless, starting exactly at 11 a.m. among so many other things. Thank you so much for the opportunity to work with you at a festival that truly and deeply had its "act" together! A a job very, very well done. Wow!" - Lisa

" WOW! GREAT job with the festival! The turnout was great, and everyone we talked to really enjoyed it and hoped there's another one next year! Kudos... You 'done good!' " - Mary and Dave

"Great superduper job on the festival. You and your peeps did an awesome job! I'm blown away that this was the first festival... I have been to other festivals as a festival goer, manager of an act and coordinator of another local festival and I have to say this was the most laid back and enjoyable festival. Everything was so efficiently run... the volunteer sign up, the CD sales tent, acts started on time... CONGRATS!" - Kerrilyn

"Hi! My family thoroughly enjoyed the Celtic Festival this past weekend. I have 2 daughters ages 6 and 8 and was wondering when the registration for Fall dance classes begins?" - Jill
